Large French Charleville Model 1831 Percussion Swivel Gun.
Unserialized, 1-inch bore diameter, 50-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear block sight. Blued finish. Right side of receiver dated 1832 along with France proof marks. Right side of receiver marked: MRE RLE / DE CHARLEVILLE. Smooth hardwood straight stock. Faint ARMS FRANCOIS patch to left side of stock. Metal buttplate. Folding swivel post. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 2862 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Heavy dings and scuffs present to stock. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
