Description
J.H. Merrill Percussion Saddle Ring Carbine.Serial no. 14537, .54 caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Saddle ring. J.H. MERRILL BALTO / PAT. JULY 7, 1858. Lock marked: 1863, (eagle) and J.H. MERRILL BALTO. / PAT. JULY 7, 1858 / APL. 9 MAY 21-28-61. Smooth hardwood stock with brass barrel band, triggerguard and buttplate.
Condition: Very good. Finish a bright patina with scattered handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action crisp. Bright bore.
