Description
Serial no. 16085, 26-inch barrels, .577 3" BPE. Blued finish with case-hardening frame. Both sides of lockplate engraved HOLLAND & HOLLAND. Top of barrels near folding sights marked HOLLAND & HOLLAND 38 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON / WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS, LONDON. Fine scroll engraving throughout. CHARGE 6 DRAMS, CASE 3 INCHES, engraved on left side under barrels [frame]. Double trigger. Gold oval escutcheon on stock, pistolgrip and splinter forearm with lever release. English cheekpiece. Level Flat Rib with express sights at 200 and 250 plus [1 standing]. Please note: Underneath stamped on barrel breech flat; multiple [proofs], 577 EX and #28417. Barrels underneath also stamped; with serial number on each barrel, [.H&H on left barrel] .449 and 15.0 on barrel rib, also underneath. Gun was purchased from William Larkin Moore and Sons in 2021. Gun originally manufactured in 1890. Weights approximately 11lbs.
Condition: Fine as configured, with minor handling and fine marks. Nicely figured wood; few bumps and mars present. Traces of lacquering present. Bores excellent, action crisp.
