Description
Engraved Heavy Barrel Percussion Rifle.Serial no. K4800, 1 1/8-inch bore diameter, 31-inch round barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Scroll and game scene engraved lock, hammer, tangs and triggerguard. Checkered walnut full-stock. Hinged patchbox to right side of stock. Sling swivel. Metal buttplate. Wood ramrod. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 2274 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina, with noticeable signs of handling wear and pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. Pin absent to forearm. Noticeable crack to right side of forearm. Action good. Pitted bore.
