Confederate Richmond VA. 1863 C.S. Percussion Musket.Unserialized, .58 caliber, 40-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. V / P / (eagle) proofs to left side of barrel. Lock marked: 1863 and C.S. / RICHMOND, VA. Smooth walnut straight stock with sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Three barrel bands, each stamped: U. Metal carbine buttplate and ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Bruises, scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
