Confederate C.S. Richmond VA. 1862 Percussion Musket.

Unserialized, .58 caliber, 40-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Left side of barrel marked: V / P / (eagle head) and N.J. A. STEEL. Breech dated 1863. Upper tang with the letter H. Lock marked: (eagle with arrows crest), 1862 and C.S. / RICHMOND, VA. Smooth hardwood straight stock. Two cartouches to left side of stock. Three barrel bands, each stamped U. Two sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Tulip head metal ramrod. Wooden tompion. US marked carbine metal buttplate. The C.S. Richmond 1862 Percussion Musket is a historically significant firearm from the American Civil War era, produced by the Confederate States at the Richmond Armory in Virginia.

Condition: Very good. Overall showing honest handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scattered dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
