Description
Civil War Era Enfield Pattern 1853 Rifle Musket. .58 caliber, 36" round barrel. Lock marked with a crown just aft of the hammer and "TOWER / 1861". Barrel has been shortened 3" and the stock modified for two bands instead of three. Brass trigger guard and fore end tip. Two sling swivels. Ramrod. Barrel with a smooth plum-brown patina. Powder pitting on the breech and lock. Stock refurbished as noted. Strong action.Auction Info
