Description

British "Brown Bess" Style Flintlock Musket and Bayonet.
Unserialized, approximately .74 caliber, 38 ½-inch round barrel with front blade sight. The barrel has two English proof marks near the breech end and "PAYTON" marked on the top of the barrel. Un-marked lock. Hardwood stock with brass fore end and ramrod ferrules. Brass butt plate marked "No 5". Brass trigger guard. Two sling swivels. Steel ramrod. Sold with a 15 ½-inch socket bayonet and a reproduction white buff leather sling.

Condition: Very good. Barrel with a generally smooth mottled-gray patina with some light surface rust. Stock with moderate scratches, dings and dents. Strong mechanical condition.
