Description
British Aston Naval Flintlock Blunderbuss with Folding Bayonet.Unserialized, 1 1/4-inch bore diameter, 14-inch two-staged brass barrel marked: MANCHESTER. Lightly engraved lock stamped: ASTON. British proof marks to left side of barrel. Checkered walnut straight stock. Scroll engraved brass triggerguard. Brass tipped wooden ramrod and brass buttplate. Mounted spring loaded 10 3/4-inch bayonet.
Condition: Fine. Overall showing honest age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Bayonet retaining lug absent. Action good. Strong bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
