Description

Absolutely Exquisite Mid 20th Century Miniature Pennsylvania Rifle. Although the gun exhibits details from several schools it is generically representative of a rifle from the York / Lancaster Pennsylvania area. Just 31" overall. with 19 1/4" full octagonal .22 caliber rifled barrel, with smooth brown color. 2 7/8" finely engraved percussion lock, signed in script "D. Walter". Highly figured curly maple stock with moulded cheeckpiece with inlaid eight pointed silver star. Magnificent four piece patchbox, clearly reminiscent of the York school, with six piercings and elaborate delicate engraving. Configured with slender wood strip between the side plates and the lid. Brass pin escutcheons each fastened with two tiny screws. Absolutely perfect condition and a really beautiful little rifle.
