Description

Winchester Second Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial No. 24007, .44 caliber, 20-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and flip-up rear sight. Brass frame. Saddle ring present on the left side of the frame. Walnut stock and forearm with carbine buttplate. Manufactured in 1869. Condition: Poor to fair. Finish pitted and metal toned to a plum brown patina. Barrel address worn off [typical]. Stock with honest wear from use. Buttplate detached. Bore dark and pitted but the rifling is surprisingly strong.
