Winchester Model 1866 Yellow Boy Saddle Ring Carbine.

Serial no. 158900 [lower tang], .44 caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. Winchester address and patent dates to top of barrel [King's Improvement]. Brass receiver. Case-hardened hammer, trigger and lever. Saddle ring. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Upper case T carved into right side of stock near buttplate. Brass buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir [ramrod not present]. Manufactured in 1882. The Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine or SRC, often referred to as the "Yellow Boy", is one of the most iconic lever-action rifles in firearms history. Introduced in 1866, it was the first rifle to bear the Winchester name, following the success of its predecessor, the Henry rifle.

Condition: Very good. Nice mellow patina present to brass with signs of handling wear. Barrel with moderate wear and signs of scabbard wear overall. Scattered scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood with stress crack to right side of fore-end [but stable]. Action good. Bore ok.
