Description

Winchester Model 1866 Lever Action Rifle.
Serial no. 22563, .44-40 caliber, 24-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Brass receiver. Case-hardened hammer and lever. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Sling swivels. JM carve to right side of stock, accented by brass tacks. Crescent brass buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Manufactured in 1869.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina, with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Cleaning rod absent. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
