Description

Spencer Model 1860 Repeating Rifle.
Serial no. 15231, .52 caliber, 37-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Case-hardened frame, hammer, lower tang and buttplate. Oil-finished walnut stock, with tubular magazine in butt. Right side of stock carved: WESLEY WANDS.
Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina, with scattered wear and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. Few noticeable cracks to fore-end. Action good. Pitted bore.
