#3901 Issued to U.S. Vet. Volunteers 1865

Martially Marked Henry Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 3901 [barrel, left side of lower tang, stock under upper tang, buttplate screws and buttplate], .44 rimfire caliber, 24 1/4-inch octagonal barrel with New Haven address. Standard blade front and ladder rear sights. Ladder graduated to 900 yards. U.S. example with right barrel flat marked CGC. Brass frame with CC. Varnished walnut stock. Right wrist with sharp GC cartouche. Rounded top corner to buttplate.

Condition. Fine. Retaining generous amounts of blue on the barrel. 50-60% thinning to a plum-gray patina. Stock is fine as re-varnished. Very good bright bore showing light wear.
