Description

Henry Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 1588 [barrel, upper tang screws, buttplate screws and buttplate], .44 rimfire caliber, 24 1/4-inch octagonal barrel with standard blade front and rear ladder sight. Graduated to 900 yards. New Haven address. Sling swivel on buttstock and sling loop present on barrel. Rounded top corner to buttplate. Manufactured February, 1863.

Condition. Fine to excellent. Barrel retaining 70-80% original finish thinning to a plum brown patina. Receiver fine with mellow patina to brass. Stock fine with scattered dents and possibly re-applied varnish. Very good bright bore showing light wear.
