Hughes other than what is engraved on the gun itself.
John Reynolds Hughes (1855-1947) was a legendary Texas Ranger, cowboy, and author, renowned for his relentless pursuit of outlaws along the Mexico-American border. His fearless law enforcement earned him a place among the most influential Texas Rangers in history. Hughes famously hunted down the killers of Ranger Captain Frank Jones and is believed to have inspired the iconic Lone Ranger character, with Zane Grey dedicating The Lone Star Ranger to him in 1915.
Condition: Fine as refurbished and configured. Showing a mellow patina to re-casehardened areas. Barrel now with a plum-brown patina. Stocks with numerous nicks and bruising. Action good, bore ok.
