Description
Full Stock Percussion Rifle. Unserialized, .36 caliber, 42-inch octagonal barrel with dovetailed brass and German silver blade front and open iron rear sights. Barrel type bolster, plain hammer and lightly engraved lock marked: BV. Brass back lock, triggerguard, fancy patchbox and curved buttplate. Tiger maple full stock with brass fittings. Carved cheek rest. Steel-tipped hardwood ramrod. Condition: Fair to good. Barrel with a pleasing, smooth brown patina with scattered patches of fine pitting, heavier at breech. Lock showing moderate patina and patches of fine pitting. Mellow patina to brass. Wood good overall but stock loose at muzzle and sliver chip left side forward of rear sight. Lock, patchbox and buttplate not quite perfectly fitting. Losses to wood around bolster. Old repair at wrist. Action functions.Auction Info
