Description
Cased W. Powell & Sons Custom Bolt Action Rifle.NVSN, .458 WIN. MAG. caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front sight and micrometer adjust rear sight. Blued finish. Extensive deep floral engraving to receiver with gold bordering and gold inlay of Cape buffalo. Floral engraving and gold band to breech and muzzle. Top of barrel marked: POWELL & SONS 35-36 CARRS LANE, BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND. Floral-bordered checkered walnut pistolgrip stock with ebony-tipped fore-end, raised cheekpiece and leather covered buttpad. Sling swivel studs. Engraved floorplate with gold bordering and gold inlay of elephant in center. Contained in fitted leather hard case with maker's label to inside of lid, tools and canvas overcase.

Condition: Excellent. Overall showing very light handling wear. Few scattered scuffs to wood. Action good. Bright bore. Minor storage wear to case. According to various sporting gun experts, top of barrel markings are spurious.
