C. Sharps 1859 New Model Breechloading Single Shot Sporting Rifle.
NVSN, .52 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Right side of receiver marked: R.S. LAWRENCE PAT. / APRIL 12TH 1859 and C. SHARPS PAT. / OCT. 5TH 1852. Left side marked: C. SHARPS PAT. / SEPT. 12TH 1848. Saddle ring. Smooth hardwood stock and fore-end. Metal buttplate.
Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina, with noticeable signs of wear and pitting. Heavy dings, scuffs and bruising to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
