Description

Spencer Model 1865 Civil War Breech Loading Saddle Ring Carbine.
Serial no. 12766, .54 caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear ladder sight. Breech loading, lever action. Saddle ring. Top of receiver marked: SPENCER REPEATING RIFLE. Smooth hardwood stock and fore-end. Sling swivel. Carbine metal butt.
Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with noticeable wear and pitting. Dings and bruising to wood. Several large cracks to each side of stock and fore-end. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
