Description

U.S. Springfield Model 1903 National Match Bolt Action Rifle. Serial no. 1268248, .30-06 caliber, 24-inch barrel marked S.A/[ordnance bomb]/3-38 on the top of the barrel near the muzzle. Mounted with Lyman globe front sight and adjustable Lyman No. 48 receiver sight. Parkerized finish. Star punch mark on lower edge of muzzle as is proper. Polished bolt with "68248" etched with electric pencil as is proper. Walnut "C" type stock lacking cartouches as is proper and with an unbordered checkered buttplate without trap. Sold with a 1918 dated leather military sling. Condition: Excellent. Retaining 90-95% of the Parkerized finish with light wear along the edges of the breech. Stock with a thin coat of varnish but otherwise with only light wear. Bright bore and smooth action.
