Description
U.S. Springfield Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 223161. .30-40 Krag. 30-inch barrel with fixed front sight and Model 1896 rear sight. Metal parts blued; receiver case hardened. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 223161". Walnut stock and hand guard. Stock with circle "P" firing proof and "JLA / 1902" inspector's cartouche. Metal buttplate with trap door for the cleaning rod.
Condition: Very good. Majority of blue on barrel present, though with some light surface spotting. Small chip on the stock at the rear of the receiver tang. Light wear to stock with some light scratches, small dents and a few scuffs. Very good bore. Mechanically sound.
