Description
U.S. Springfield Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 242356. .30-40 Krag. 30-inch barrel with fixed front sight and Model 1901 rear sight. Metal parts blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 242356". Walnut stock and hand guard. Stock with circle "P" firing proof but no other visible cartouches. Metal buttplate with trap door for cleaning rod. Sold with a leather military-style sling.
Condition: Good. Blued parts with a smooth plum-brown patina. Light traces of case color on the receiver. Stock with scattered light scratches and small abrasions. Grey bore with modest wear. Mechanically sound.
