Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1892 Sporterized Krag Bolt Action Rifle.
    Serial no. 14099. .30-40 Krag. 24-inch barrel with later-mounted front fixed sight. Rear sight mounting holes on the barrel are plugged. Mounted with Pacific aperture sight. Metal parts blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 14099". Walnut stock heavily modified. Stock decorated with slightly simple decoration in the form of diamond shaped German sliver inlays. Pachmayr rubber recoil pad.

    Condition: Good as modified. Metal worn to a smooth gray patina. No magazine cutoff. The stock's butt has been repaired (or modified) by the addition of a new piece of wood on the upper side and a crack in the wrist repaired with a brass screw. The bore is bright and moderately worn. Mechanically sound.
