Description
U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 467107. .30-40 Krag. 30-inch barrel with fixed blade front sight and Model 1902 rear sight. Metal parts blued; receiver casehardened. Left side of receiver marked: "U.S. / MODEL 1898 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 467107". Walnut stock and handguard. Faint "JLA / 1903" cartouche and circle "P" proof. Metal buttplate with trapdoor for the cleaning rod.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 70% thinning blue on the barrel. Casehardened areas with mottled gray finish. Wood furniture with moderate handling wear, including a few deep scratches and dents. Bore rather dark, but the rifling remains strong. Excellent mechanical condition.
