Description
U.S. Remington Model 03-A3 Bolt Action Rifle.Serial no. 3956741 [receiver], .30-06 caliber, 24 1/2-inch barrel with standard military sights. Blued finish. Top of action marked: U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A3. Smooth hardwood straight stock with stacking swivel, sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Bayonet lug. Checkered metal buttplate with cleaning tool reservoir. Wartime demand: When the U.S. entered WWII, there were not enough M1 Garands to equip all personnel. Remington was contracted to produce a more basic version of the bolt-action M1903.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 90-94% finish with signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Bright bore. Tom Mixon Collection
