Description
German WWII Mauser (dou 43) Model 98 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet.Serial no. 3549 [receiver, bolt, floorplate and barrel band], 8mm caliber, 24 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Blued finish. German proof marks to left side of barrel and receiver. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with leather shoulder sling. Metal buttplate. 9 3/4-inch bayonet, ricasso marked: F. HERDERA SN. and 6056, with metal scabbard and wood grip panels.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 40-50% finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with areas of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Action crisp. Bright bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
