Dummy Springfield Model 1903 Service Rifle. Serial no. 31257, approximately .30 caliber plugged 24-inch barrel. End of barrel marked: RIA/[flaming bomb]/5-43. Standard military front sight. Bayonet lug. Parkerized finish. Top of breech marked: RIFLE/DUMMY/MK 5-0/31257. Inoperable action and safety. Standard walnut stock with cotton sling. Two sling swivels. Flat steel buttplate with compartment. Condition: Fair to good. Scattered staining to finish. Weld marks visible on top of receiver. Cracks to stock on fore-arm, left side under receiver and in buttstock near wrist. Moderate soiling. Light surface rust to rear sling swivel.Auction Info
