Description

ISRAELITE. Iron Age II B-C, circa 925-586 BCE. Terracotta wine cup (kalathos). A broad, flared cup 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) tall, with a 2.25 inch ( 6 cm) wide lip that tapers to a widened, rounded body, terminating with a conical foot. Cf. Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, plate 81, 11. P. 245 for example without foot. Minor chipping to rim, otherwise intact.
