Description
ISRAELITE. Iron Age II B-C, circa 925-586 BCE. Terracotta wine cup (kalathos). A broad, flared cup 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) tall, with a 2.25 inch ( 6 cm) wide lip that tapers to a widened, rounded body, terminating with a conical foot. Cf. Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land, plate 81, 11. P. 245 for example without foot. Minor chipping to rim, otherwise intact.From The Living Torah Museum Collection; acquired from Time Machine Company (David Liebert).
