Description

SOUTHERN ITALY. Canosa. Circa 300-250 BCE. White glazed trefoil pitcher (oinochoe). Standing 11 inches (28 cm) tall, with footed ovoid body, narrow neck, flaring triple spout, and high looping handle. Traces of original white glaze (with red rings around body and neck) present, revealing underlying terracotta. The handle has been broken and reattached. Together with a group of large fragments from an Apulian red-figure vase.
