Description
Stevens Hunter's Pet Pocket Rifle No. 34. Serial no. 304, .44-40 caliber, 18-inch octagonal barrel with hooded front and adjustable rear sights. Single line maker's information on the left side of the barrel J. STEVENS & CO. CHICOPEE FALLS MASS PAT. SEPT. 6, 1864. Nickel plated frame and detachable shoulder stock, blued barrel. Walnut grips.Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 85-90% plating, the remainder moderately scratched and worn. Barrel aged to a smooth brown patina with occasional fine pits and wear to the high spots. Crisp action. Dark bore but the rifling is strong.
