U.S. Colt Second Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 9860 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt] and 10150 [loading lever], .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal and round barrel with fixed front sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer, frame and lever. Brass squareback triggerguard and backstrap. Rectangular cylinder stop slots. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY. Left side of frame stamped: COLT'S / PATENT / U.S. One-piece walnut grip. One inspector mark visible under serial number on triggerguard. This model was in production circa 1850-1851 and was government issued, approximately 2,700 second model dragoons were made. Manufactured in 1851. An honest example of a scarce Second Model Colt Dragoon.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action tight but functions. Pitted bore.
