Description
Smith and Wesson Model No. 2 Army Revolver.Serial no. 44524, .32 RF, 6-inch octagonal barrel. 6-shot non-fluted cylinder. Originally blued finish with rosewood grips. Standard barrel markings. Spur trigger. Note: According to Flayderman's, these were manufactured between 1861 to 1874 with a total production of 77,155. Flayderman's also states "The Model No. 2 was a popular sidearm with many officers and enlisted men during the Civil War. General George Armstrong Custer is known to have owned a pair of these."
Condition: Fair to good. Metal has been cleaned. Overall gun with a grey patina and pitting overall. Faint S&W markings present. Hammer tip broken. Grips with some losses to finish, mars and dings. Small chip to butt. Mechanically needs adjusting, will not hold while cocked. Bore dark, but clear.
