Description

Remington Model 1875 Single Action Revolver.

Serial number 261 [under grips], 44-40 caliber, 7 1/2-inch round barrel marked E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION N.Y. U.S.A. Blued finish with two-piece walnut grips. Case-hardened hammer and loading gate. Left side of grip stamped 44 .W. Lanyard ring present.
Please note: Introduced in 1875, this model came slightly later than the Colt 1873, at a time when the Western frontier was rapidly expanding. Its introduction was part of Remington's effort to capitalize on the booming demand for reliable sidearms. Approximately 25,000 to 30,000 made.

Condition: Good, retains a 5-10% bluing, mostly in protected areas, with a slight grey/brown finish left throughout. Small traces to case-hardening present to hammer and loading gate. Grips good for their age, minor bumps and bruising. Action good, bore ok.
