Rare Engraved Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver and Shoulder Stock.
Serial no. 90860 (all matching except wedge), .44 percussion caliber, 8-inch barrel with brass blade front sight and New York address. Blued and case-hardened finish. Banded muzzle. Extensive and beautiful New York-style vine and floral engraving on barrel, frame, hammer, triggerguard and backstrap. Hammer with wolf's head design. Naval engagement scene to cylinder. Smooth walnut grips with cartouches still visible on each panel. Inspector's initials present. Sold together with engraved detachable buttstock numbered 48756. Brass surfaces with 80%-90% coverage in similar floral style. Serial number on heel of buttplate and on lower tang. Saddle ring present.

Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of original blue in protected areas, the balance a fine, smooth gray-brown patina. Scattered patches of fine pitting. All engraving is sharp and crisp. Light age wear. Cylinder scene is soft but visible. Light tool marks to triggerguard screws. Brass with mellow patina. Traces of silver plate. Grips: Very good to fine. Scattered fine dents. Scratches present to top of left grip panel. Small chip to right panel at triggerguard. Stock: Fine. Light handling wear and age patina.
