First Model, Squareback Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 703 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Case-hardened hammer, lever and frame. Brass triggerguard and backstrap. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Serial number look up has this gun manufactured in 1850. According to Flayderman's Guide and other researched outlets, it is recognizable by the square-back triggerguard and screw under the wedge. [5B-050].
Note: Condition of gun raises issues of authenticity, since it is a rare early variation based on the serial number, gun cannot be authenticated based on the condition being so rough.
