Exceptional Cased Colt Model 5A Root Pocket Percussion Revolver with Accessories. Serial no. 2892, .31 caliber, 4 ½-inch round barrel with two-line New York address. Blued finish. Case-hardened lever and hammer. Fluted cylinder. Spur trigger. Varnished walnut grip. Contained in an American walnut partitioned case. Original deep burgundy velvet lining with the following accessories: a key, steel cleaning rod with brass head; .31 caliber eagle and shield flask, spacer tool; two-cavity bowleg .31 caliber Colt's Patent bullet mold; 250 count blue label Eley Bros. cap tin with original mottled paper wrapper intact and lead ball supply. A superior cased example of this model revolver.
Condition: Excellent to mint. Barrel retaining approximately 98% brilliant finish on barrel and frame; 96% finish on fluted cylinder; small dent on left side of topstrap; vibrant case-hardening on lever and hammer; grip near mint. Action tight and crisp. Case excellent with light wear, accessories are all correct and in excellent condition. Flask with over 95% lacquer finish and tiny vertical crack in collar.
