Description
Engraved D. Moore Patent Single Action Belt Revolver.Serial no. 6875 [base of barrel], .31 caliber, 4-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front bead sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: MANFD FOR SMITH & WESSON BY MOORE'S PAT. FIRE ARMS CO. Scroll engraved brass frame, triggerguard and backstrap. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. These revolvers were commonly used in the 19th century and were popular among lawmen, outlaws, and civilians alike.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 10-20% finish, the balance a dark grep patina with signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Action crisp. Lightly pitted bore.
