Description

D.W. Harris Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver.
Serial no. 221409, .41 caliber, 5 1/2-inch round barrel with single line Hartford address and ".41 Colt" on the left side of the barrel. Nickel finish. Horn grips. Fully engraved by master engraver David Wade Harris in the "Texas Cattle Brand" pattern featuring famous Texas cattle brands on the barrel, cylinder, and grip straps intermingled with foliate scroll and stippling. Signed by Harris on the lower grip strap. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter indicating the revolver was shipped February 5, 1902 to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri. The revolver was originally blue and the type of stocks was not listed.
Provenance: Roger and Linda Carpenter Collection.

Condition: Excellent as refinished. Mechanically excellent with some surface rust in the bore.
