Description

Colt Single Action Army Civilian Revolver.

Serial no. 152360 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .41 caliber, 4 3/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Nickel-plated finish. Colt address to top of barrel. Two-line, three-date patent and Rampant Colt to left side of frame. Stag grip panels. Manufactured in 1893. The Colt Single Action Army revolver was praised for its durability and simplicity. The single-action mechanism required the shooter to manually cock the hammer before each shot, making it slower than double-action revolvers. However, the single-action design was highly reliable and easier to maintain, which made it ideal for rugged frontier use.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 40-50% finish with heavy and noticeable signs of handling wear, age and pitting. Ejector absent. Action does not stay cocked. Lightly pitted bore. From the Collection of James Schubert.
