Colt Second Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver.
Serial no. 8994 [barrel, frame, lever, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal to round barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY. MODEL U.S.M.R. / COLT'S PATENT etched cylinder scene. T inspector mark to right side of triggerguard. Left side of frame reads: COLTS / PATENT. Brass gripstraps. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1850.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. SAM on barrel is present, but faint. Noticeable dings and bruising present to wood, with some loss at corners. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
