Colt Model 1860 Fluted Army Single Action Revolver with Writing Desk and Accessories, Belonging to Captain Jonas Kendall Tyler, 29th Mass. Infantry.

Serial no. 3677 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt], .44 caliber, 8-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. Left side of frame stamped: COLT'S / PATENT. Brass triggerguard. Varnished walnut one-piece grip, right side carved: CAPT. J.K. TYLER. Contained in writing desk, lid features silver square plaque inscribed: CAPT. JONAS K. TYLER. Sold along with powder flask and bullet mold. Also, S. BUTCHER / SILVER STEEL / SHEFFIELD marked knife with silver guard and pommel. Bone grip panels. 4 5/8-inch blade and 8-inches in overall length. Jonas Kendall Tyler was a Captain of the 29th Mass. Infantry, who later went on to be a an attorney. He was also a descendent of President John Tyler.

Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish in protected areas of cylinder, the balance a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Lightly pitted bore. Desk displaying honest age and storage wear.
