Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 49486 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .44 caliber, 8-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. Left side of frame stamped: COLTS / PATENT. Brass triggerguard. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1862. Most notably used by the Union forces in the American Civil War; it was their primary sidearm for mounted troops (cavalry), officers, sometimes infantry and artillery.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Wedge absent. Trivial repair at base of barrel and frame. Screw repair to butt. Dings, cracks and bruising present to wood; with some loss at corners. Action needs adjustment. Moderately pitted bore.
