Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver.

Serial no. 77706 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt, 7706 on wedge], .31 caliber, 6-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Top of barrel two-line reads ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK CITY. Blued and case-hardened finish. COLTS / PATENT stamped to left side of frame. X marking to left side of triggerguard near frame. Z marking on triggerguard forward of trigger. Early loading slot. Small brass triggerguard. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1853.

Condition: Very good to fine. Barrel retains approximately 60-70% bluing, same as cylinder. Case colors mostly turned grey; about 75% silver plating present, mostly to backstrap and bottom with balance brass. Varnish on grips fine to excellent, with minor wear mostly to bottom section; minor scratches and bruising present. Marred screws. Action crisp. Good bore. From the Collection of Oran B. Jolley.
