Description
Cased Colt 1862 Police Model Single Action Revolver.Serial no. 20404 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt], .36 caliber, 6 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front bead sight. Blued finish. Various London proof marks. Brass triggerguard and backstrap. Smooth hardwood grip panels. Contained in wooden factory display case with green felt lining, nipple wrench, flask, mold, oiler, cap tin and key. Box and string tag both bearing sticker: SOTHEBY'S / 149 / NEW YORK.
Condition: Very good as refinished. Retaining approximately 94-96% blue finish, with scattered handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs to grips. Action good. Moderately pitted bore. Case displaying normal age and storage wear.
