Cased Colt 1851 Navy Revolver.
Serial no. 167757, .36 caliber 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with New York address and High Polish blue finish. Case-hardened rammer. Brass straps. Varnished walnut grips. Matching serial numbers were observed on wedge, arbor, lug, frame, cylinder and triggerguard. Colt's patent mark left side of frame. Guard with inspector's S and 36 CAL markings. Inscribed butt reading: LESSA. Contained in period green baize-lined hardwood case with replacement hinges and a Yale-marked lock. Sold together with accessories set comprising: empty Colt's cap tin with green label, Colt's two-cavity bullet mold, unmarked brass stand-of-arms powder flask and empty, wood cartridge box with label reading: SIX CARTRIDGES/WHITNEY'S OR COLT'S NAVY PISTOL,/36-100 CALI.

Condition: Fine. Barrel retains approximately 40-50% of the original High Polish blue balance fading to gray. Scattered fine scratches. Rammer retains generous traces of case colors. Cylinder retains approximately 20-30% finish, fading to gray and with scattered dents. Three good safety pins remain. Frame has traces of case colors. Mellow patina to brass. Grips are fine with some finish loss at the butt. Accessories are very good with age wear and patina. Flask is fine with light soiling and a 1-inch split to left seam. Case is fine as possibly refinished.
