Description
Boxed Colt Model 1851 Navy Conversion Single Action Revolver. Serial no. 68287 [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt], .36 caliber, 6 1/2-inch shortened octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and marked: ADDRESS SAML COLT, NEW YORK CITY. Blued finish. Walnut grips with brass hardware. Contained in Colt pasteboard box with literature.Condition: Fair. Retaining approximately 50-60% of a thinning refinish with heavy wear, some metal loss to right side of barrel and patches of pitting. Grips showing scuffs dents and bruising. Some noticeable wood loss to corners. Ejector rod and triggerguard absent. Loading gate very loose. Action needs adjustment. Dark bore. Box not original to gun, signs of wear, holes and tears.
