Serial Number 1.
Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Navy Revolver.Serial no. 1 [frame under grips, inside grip panels and lever], .36 caliber, 6-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Etched forest scene to cylinder. Smooth walnut grip panels. According to Flayderman, only about 100 of these early production types manufactured.
Condition: Very good as cleaned. Finish a smooth bright grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Scattered dings and scuffs present to grips. Action needs some adjustment. Nipple damage. Moderately pitted bore.
