7th Cavalry Custer U.S. Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 4-Digit. Serial no. 5020 [frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: - COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. Ainsworth "A" inspector mark to base of barrel, cylinder, triggerguard, backstrap and base of grip. "P" stamped to base of barrel and cylinder. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1874. The serial number falls in the range of Custer's 7th Cavalry troops. Accompanied by John A. Kopec letter dated December 9, 1999.

Condition: Good as configured. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and pitting. Barrel address fades out towards the end of Hartford. Multiple modifications listed in the Kopec report. Tracking line to cylinder. Noticeable dings and bruises present to wood. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore.
